Things were looking good for the Lady Broncos in set one getting a kill from Peyton Roper followed by a Miriam Miller service ace to go up 12-10. But then four attack errors by Hastings plus a couple of Pirate kills made it 16-12 in favor of Park before Hastings called its first timeout. HC really never recovered following this run dropping set one 25-18.
In set two, Hastings did not get off to as good of a start as the Pirates opened up an early 14-9 lead before the Lady Broncos rallied back. It started with an Irene Verdino service error and an attack error by Makaina Hensley to make it 14-11. Then Miller went outside to Brianna Lemke for the kill and then Lemke found Asher for the kill to make it 14-13. An attack error by Thaynara Jesus tied things at 14 before Park finally ended the run with a Jesus kill.
Hastings wasn't done as Asher went out to Roper for the kill to tie things back up at 15-15. Rachel Hefta used her defensive abilities blocking the Hensley attack to put Hastings up for the first time in this set since it was 1-0. Following another Hensley attack error, Asher connected with Lemke for another big time kill to make it 18-15.
The Lady Broncos held on to its lead until Hefta picked a kill on the slide to make it 23-19. Hastings did get down 22-13 but would make Park a bit nervous with a 7-1 run highlighted by kills from Marlee Taylor, two kills from Lemke and a service ace from Ava Lovitt had Hastings within three at 23-20. But Park closed it out with back-to-back kills to win the set and the match 3-1 setting up a winner take all match with Concordia for the right to move into the knockout stage.
