Pedroza and Schubert Net Hat-Tricks as Women's Soccer Blows Out DWU
Mitchell, SD – The Hastings College women’s soccer team made it look easy with its 10-0 victory over Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon to open up Great Plains Athletic Conference action.

Mitchell, SD – The Hastings College women's soccer team made it look easy with its 10-0 victory over Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon to open up Great Plains Athletic Conference action.
It did not take long for Hastings to show case its dominance as Naomi Pedroza picked up her first hat-trick as a Bronco and it took her just 11:33 into the contest. Dekota Schubert found her in the 8th minute and the 12th minute while Pedroza did it all by herself in the 11th minute.
Schubert followed suit with her first career hat-trick picking up a penalty kick goal in the 18th minute followed by a goal off the Julia Vilanova assist in the 33rd minute as Hastings took a 5-0 lead into the locker room
In the 51st minute, Schubert finished her hat-trick off the assist from Megan Lampe. Pedroza would add one more goal to her total which brings her to 10 on the season in the 53rd minute.
Miley Prine picked up goals in the 69th minute and 81st minute off assists from Schubert and Dakota Pritchard respectively. Pritchard then finished up the scoring with a goal in the 87th minute as Hastings eased its way to a 10-0 victory.
Sofie Jackson-Pedersen added her ninth career shutout with one save on the day.
Hastings out shot the Tigers 29-to-2 and 15-to- 1 in shots on goal.
HC is now 6-0 (1-0) on the year and will be back in action Thursday Sept. 22 as Jamestown comes to town with kickoff set for 5:00 pm on Lloyd Wilson Field.
The last time the women's soccer team went this far into a season without a loss was 2018 and according to current records, this is the best start in school history. The 2018 team started the year 17-0-3 before taking its first loss in the round of 16 to Keiser.
