Jackson-Pederson Saves a Career High 14 Shots as Women's Soccer Defeats CSM

Omaha, NE – The Hastings College women's soccer team hit the road on Wednesday afternoon for a Great Plains Athletic Conference match up against College of Saint Mary coming away with the 3-1 victory.
In a highly entertaining first half that saw a total of 17 shots with HC having 11 of those, Hastings was the one that found the back of the net while CSM stayed scoreless.
The game remained 0-0 into the 23rd minute when Dulce Lopez found Naomi Pedroza for her 11th goal of the season to make it 1-0.
Then late in the first half, Sara Pedroza connected with Dekota Schubert for her 15th goal of the season as the Lady Broncos now led 2-0 in the 42nd minute.
It didn't take long for Hastings to strike in the second period when Lauren Metz found Schubert for her second goal of the game in the 47th minute for the 3-0 lead. This was her 16th goal of the season which continues to lead the team.
The Lady Broncos continued to pepper the goal the rest of the second half but keeper Alivia Schade kept the game at 3-0 until the 86th minute when the Flames avoided the shutout when Abbie Anderson put a shot past Sofie Jackson-Pedersen to finish up the scoring at 3-1.
Both teams finished with 20 shots while CSM held a slim 15-to-13 advantage in shots on goal. Jackson-Pederson went on to finish with a career high 14 saves in the win. Her previous high was 10 against the University of Science and Arts to start the season last year.
Hastings improves to 11-2-2 (6-2-2) on the year and will be back in action Saturday Oct. 22 as Northwestern comes to town with kickoff set for 5:30 pm on Lloyd Wilson Field. Hastings currently sits in fourth place in the GPAC standings with two games to play.
