Women's Soccer Blisters William Woods in Opener
Fulton, MO – The Hastings College women’s soccer team opened up the 2022 season by defeating William Woods 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Fulton, MO – The Hastings College women's soccer team opened up the 2022 season by defeating William Woods 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Hastings dominated from start to finish allowing just six total shots and four on goal while ripping off 28 total shots and 17 of them on target.
Just shy of the 10 minute mark, Miley Prine found Eva Dunker for the 1-0 lead beating the keeper in a one-on-one.
Dekota Schubert received the ball near midfield from Prine and dribbled towards the goal where she beat goal keeper Belle Boschert to make it 2-0 in the 13th minute. From there Hastings would continue to pepper the goal but would be unable to find the back of the net the rest of the half.
The Lady Broncos then exploded in the second half as Dulce Lopez sent a cross in from the left finding Prine as she put the ball past Boschert to make it 3-0 in the 57th minute.
In the 65th minute, Lopez found Schubert as she ripped a shot high and hard that cleared Boschert's head and into the net to make it 4-0.
HC made it 5-0 when Sofia Gomez-Garcia collected the rebound shot from Eva Dunker and put it away in the 79th minute and just two minutes later, Jesse Chartier threaded a through ball to Naomi Pedroza as she to beat the keeper one-on-one for the final goal of the game.
Sofie Jackson-Pedersen picked up her first win of the season with three saves and her first clean sheet as well.
Hastings is now 1-0 on the year and will be back in action Wednesday Aug. 31 as Tabor comes to town with kickoff set for 5:30 pm on Lloyd Wilson Field.
