Broncos Steam Roll Prairie Wolves
Hastings - The Hastings College women's basketball team slowly and methodically made life miserable for Nebraska Wesleyan eventually pulling away for the 67-40 victory Wednesday night at Lynn Farrell Arena.
The game featured both teams struggling from the floor as NWU shot just 19 percent while the Broncos hit 25 percent. Hastings led 26-14 at the break.
In the second half Cami Bruckman decided it was time to take over after scoring just six points in the first half finished with a game high 17 points. As a team, Hastings went off hitting better than 55 percent of its shots in the second half and pulling away from the Prairie Wolves.
Hastings as a team showed great team work sharing the ball as 11 players scored in this game.
NWU was led by Mallory Shanahan as she finished with 15 points on 6-13 from the floor.
With the win, Hastings improves to 14-13 (9-8) overall and will look to keep things going as the Broncos will host Mount Marty Saturday Feb. 9 with tip-off set for 2:00 p.m. at Lynn Farrell Arena.
