Broncos Force OT; Fall 70-57
Salina, KS - The Hastings College Women's Basketball Team battled back from 16 points down to force overtime but ended up falling 70-57 to Kansas Wesleyan on Tuesday night.
In a game where it seemed Hastings may have been down and out, the Broncos put together a tremendous comeback going on a 19-3 run after trailing 37-21 in the second half.
The Coyotes opened the lead back to three with 2.2 seconds remaining before the Broncos hit a three at the buzzer to force overtime. But Hastings seemed to run out of gas as the overtime began.
Kansas Wesleyan only allowed two points in the overtime period pulling away to a 70-57 victory.
Hastings was led by Cami Bruckman as she finished with 19 point hitting on 7-17 shots and 5-10 from behind the three-point line. Kansas Wesleyan was led by Alecia Smith as she finished with 21 points to lead all scorers.
With the loss Hastings falls to 8-8 (3-4) and will be back in action as they will travel to Winfield, KS to take on NAIA No. 21 Southwestern with tip-off set for 4:00 p.m. Saturday December 29.
