Turnovers costly in loss to Briar Cliff
Hastings, NE - The Hastings College Women's Basketball Team found themselves in a turnover fest as each team combined for 55 turnovers but the Chargers of Briar Cliff managed to make more of the Bronco turnovers hurt. Hastings fell 82-69 on Saturday afternoon.
In the first half, the Broncos made the most of the Charger mistakes including hitting 12-16 from the line. Hastings also held BCU to just 33 percent from the floor taking a 32-29 lead into the break.
Things took a turn for the worst for Hastings right away in the second half as the Chargers began to make the Broncos mistakes hurt. Before Hastings knew it, they were down nearly double digits and were never able to get any closer than five points.
Hastings was led by Melissa Thompson as she finished with 15 points while Tanasia Uhrig and Chelsey Morten both finished with double digits.
BCU was led by Kela Cihak as she led all scorers with 24 points.
Hastings will be back in action as they will travel to Orange City, IA Saturday December 15 with tip-off set for 2:00 p.m.
