Women's Basketball Defeated by No. 2 Dordt
Sioux Center, IA – The Hastings College women’s basketball team hit the road to take on NAIA No. 2 Dordt and came away with the 86-51 loss on Saturday afternoon inside DeWitt Gymnasium.

Sioux Center, IA – The Hastings College women's basketball team hit the road to take on NAIA No. 2 Dordt and came away with the 86-51 loss on Saturday afternoon inside DeWitt Gymnasium.
The Defenders quickly opened up a quick lead in the first quarter and never looked back as Dordt shot 47 percent (33-for-70) while Hastings shot just 26.6 percent (17-for-64).
Neither team shot particularly well from behind the arc as Hastings was 3-fo-16 and Dordt was 5-for-16.
Turnovers were low in the game with just a total of 23 but the major difference was points in the paint as the Defenders scored 50 paint points to just 20 for the Lady Broncos.
Tathis Arredondo led the way with a career high 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting and was 6-for-8 from the charity stripe as she also pulled down a career high eight boards. Mariyah Avila finished with eight points while Rachel Goodon added seven points. Alyssa Baker finished with six points off the bench while Miriam Miller added five off the bench.
Hastings falls to 4-7 (2-5) on the year and will be back in action Tuesday Dec. 19 hitting the road to take on Oklahoma Panhandle State with tipoff set for 12:00 pm down in Goodwell, OK inside Anchor D Arena.
