Defenders Defeat Men's Basketball 97-83
Sioux Center, IA - The Hastings College men's basketball team missed an opportunity to end its winless streak in Sioux Center but lost to Dordt 97-83 on Saturday afternoon.
Hastings was led by Rich Williams (SR/Scottsbluff, NE) as he finished with 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting and 2-of-6 from behind the arc. Bart Hiscock (FR/Bennington, NE) added 15 points while Connor Musiel (JR/Lincoln, NE) finished with 13 points and Kevin Harkins (JR/Omaha, NE) added 12.
Hastings had trouble slowing down the Defender offense as Dordt shot 59 percent from the floor and 52 percent from downtown. Hastings shot 40 percent from the floor and 35 percent from behind the arc.
Alec Henrickson led all scorers with 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting.
The Broncos did force 17 Defender turnovers compared to just nine for the Broncos but Dordt won the rebound battle 43-to-34.
Hastings falls to 10-11 (4-5) on the year and will be back in action Wednesday Jan. 18 hitting the road to take on Doane with tip-off set for 8:00 p.m. in Crete, NE.
