Men's Soccer Knocks Off Bellevue 2-0
Bellevue, NE – It may not have been the prettiest of contests as there were three red cards issued but the Hastings College men’s soccer team defeated Bellevue 2-0 on Wednesday night in a rare late season non-conference game.

The Broncos were able to put the struggling Bruin squad behind early on its first shot of the game when Paul Obrusnik dribbled into the box and his shot beat the keeper to the far side and into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead in the 8th minute.
The game would really even out for the rest of the half and Hastings would have to settle for a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
It was the Bruins that would put some pressure on the Bronco back line but Brendan Dally was up for the task making five saves in the first 17 minutes of the second half.
As the game stayed close, things began to get chippy as Fletcher Hedge would get sent off in the 70th minute with a red card.
In the 75th minute, David Panter collected his rebound and put his shot into the upper deck of the goal to make it 2-0 and then things heated up. Tyler Mase picked up a yellow in the 78th and in the 79th minute, Nils Schaefer and Antonio Capra would each be sent off plus Bellevue's Sebastian Zapata along with Panter were issued yellow cards over the skirmish that had played out.
Once play resumed, Hastings would only surrender one more shot and got out of Bellevue with the 2-0 victory.
The Bruins out shot Hastings 13-to-12 but HC held a slim 8-to-6 advantage in shots on goal.
Hastings improves to 12-1-1 (9-0-1) on the year and will finish up the regular season hitting the road to take on Dordt with kickoff set for 4:15 pm in Sioux Center, IA.
