Jamestown Shoots Lights Out in Win Over Men's Basketball
Jamestown, ND – The Hastings College men’s basketball team held its own early against NAIA No. 6 Jamestown before the Jimmies pulled away for the 104-67 victory over the Broncos on Friday night.

Trailing 11-6 early, Tyrique McMurrin came off the bend and drained a three to make it 11-9 with 13:46 to go in the first half. After a Mason Walters bucket, Reggie Thomas drained a three to make it a one point game with just over 13:00 to go in the half.
Jamestown managed to grow the lead to nine but Thomas connected from downtown again to make it 24-18 with under 8:00 to go in the half. But the Jimmies ended the half on a 19-6 run to take the 19 point lead into the break.
Unfortunately, the Broncos were not able to get any closer before finally losing 104-67.
Grady Corrigan led the way for Hastings with 13 points on 4-for-6 shooting. Thomas was the only other Bronco in double figures with 12 points.
Hastings finished the game shooting 44.9 percent (22-for-49) and 56.3 percent (9-for-16) but the Jimmies shot 61.7 percent (37-for-60) including 45.5 percent (10-for-22) from downtown. The Broncos turned the ball over 16 times compared to just six for Jamestown. The Jimmies also won the rebounding battle.
The Broncos drop its first game of the year and are now 8-1 (2-1) and will be back in action Saturday Dec. 3 hitting the road to take on Dakota Wesleyan with tipoff set for 2:45 pm in Mitchell, SD.
