Women's Soccer Ousted by CMU
Foley, AL – The Hastings College women’s soccer team had its season come to a close in its 4-0 loss to No. 4 Central Methodist on Monday evening in the round of 16 at the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Tournament.

Foley, AL – The Hastings College women's soccer team had its season come to a close in its 4-0 loss to No. 4 Central Methodist on Monday evening in the round of 16 at the NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournament.
The Eagles showed why they are the No. 4 team in the country opening up a 3-0 lead in the first half before scoring the lone goal in the second half to move to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The Lady Broncos would get its first shot of the game in the 70th minute off a shot from Kailee Lunzer but Candela Blanco Esteban came away with the save. HC got its second shot of the game in the 75th minute off of a header from Miley Prine but her effort ended up going over the goal. The final shot for Hastings was in the 82nd minute as Lunzer led another shot go but couldn't get it past Esteban as CMU came away with the 4-0 victory.
CMU outshot Hastings 16-to-3 and 12-to-2 in shots on goal.
Jackson Pedersen finished the game with eight saves.
Hastings finishes the 2023 campaign with a 17-4-2 record.
This was the 11th time Hastings qualified for nationals and the fifth time Hastings has made it to the final site of the national tournament.
