Women's Soccer Blanks Northwestern

Orange City, IA – The Hastings College women's soccer team is one game closer to claiming the Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season crown after defeating Northwestern 3-0 on Saturday night.
It didn't take long for the Lady Broncos to get on the board as Michaela Fox sent a beautiful cross into the box where Naomi Pedroza flicked the ball into the goal for the 1-0 lead in the 3rd minute.
The Lady Broncos would make it 2-0 in the 26th minute when Sophia Lee sent a great cross that found Dekota Schubert as she put it away for the 2-0 lead that held strong into the second half.
Hastings picked up its final goal of the game in the 53rd minute when Dulce Lopez sent a ball into the box where Pedroza put a shot on goal only to have it stopped by Abby Bastian but the rebound came right back to Pedroza as she beat Bastian to the near post for the 3-0 lead.
Hastings dominated the action out shooting the Red Raiders 27-to-5 and 14-to-2 in shots on goal.
Jackson Pedersen finished the game with two saves as she earned her ninth clean sheet of the season.
Hastings is now 13-1-2 (8-1-2) on the year and will be back in action Wednesday Oct. 25 as Dordt comes to town for the final GPAC regular season matchup with kickoff set for 8:00 pm out on Lloyd Wilson Field.
