Men's Soccer 2016 GPAC Tourney Champs

Hastings- The No. 1 seed Hastings College men's soccer team continued its dominant run with a 3-1 win over the No. 3 seed Concordia (NE) Bulldogs Friday night at Lloyd Wilson Field to win the Cypress Risk Management GPAC Men's Soccer Tournament.
The Broncos (20-0-0) would strike first in the 21st minute with as Daniel Whitehall (SO/Warrington, England) connected with Daniel Linstead (SO/Canberra, Australia) to give Hastings a 1-0 lead over the Bulldogs (11-7-2), a lead the Broncos would not relinquish.
In the 38th minute, the Broncos would score the second and final goal of the first half, this time Whitehall hit the back of the net to make the HC lead 2-0 going into half. Hastings outshot Concordia 11-4 in the first half.
Whitehall would lead the game with 9 shots, 3 shots on goal.
As a team, Hastings tallied 20 shots, 11 shots on goal compared to the 12 shots, 3 shots on goal recorded by Concordia.
Hastings, the winner of the GPAC Tournament, will advance as the league's automatic representative, to the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round on Saturday, November 19.
Sixteen teams will advance to the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Final Site at the Seacrest Soccer Complex in Delray Beach, Florida, November 28 – December 3, 2016.
