Men's Soccer Picked First in GPAC
(Sioux City, Iowa) – Hastings College totaled 81 points for first place in the 2016 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll. The Broncos garnered nine of ten first place votes.
Midland was picked second with 71 votes, while Northwestern was third with 55. Concordia was fourth with 54 and the final first place vote.
Hastings won the GPAC regular season with a 9-0-1 record last fall and posted an overall record of 14-4-3. Concordia won the GPAC Postseason Tournament and went 11-7-3 on the season after posting a 4-4-2 league record.
The 2016 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship will be held November 28 – December 3 at the Seacrest Soccer Complex in Delray Beach, Florida. The Opening Round matches will be played at campus sites on Saturday, November 19. The GPAC will receive one automatic berth to the NAIA Postseason in 2016. The NAIA Men's Soccer Postseason will consist of 31 teams playing in a single elimination bracket (host institution receives opening round bye).
The 2016 GPAC men's soccer season schedule will consist of nine league games as all 10 teams will compete for the conference crown.
