Whitehall Goes Off in Drubbing of Kansas Wesleyan
Salina, KS - When its your time to shine, there usually is not much that can stop you and that is exactly what is happening with Hastings College men's soccer and Daniel Whitehall (SO/Warrington, England). Whitehall decided that four goals against Bellevue on Sunday was just not enough so he scored five goals in the Broncos 6-0 victory over Kansas Wesleyan on Wednesday night.
It appears as if no one has an answer on how to slow up Whitehall as he has now combined for nine goals in two games.
The first half played out in fairly normal fashion as Whitehall got the Broncos on the board in the 13th minute to take the 1-0 lead. He struck again in the 24th minute off the Adam Knight (SR/Wakefield, England) assist as Hastings held a 2-0 lead at the break.
And for the second game in a row, the second half treated Whitehall and the Bronco offense kindly as he would score goals in the 57th, 66th and 68th minutes which would ultimately end his night as Head Coach Aaron Champenoy pulled the forward shortly after his fifth goal.
This now pushes his regular season total to 17 goals which currently leads the country.
Jake Ridpath (JR/Gretna, NE) would finish up the scoring with a goal in the 84th minute off the Brayant Toro (FR/Cali, Colombia) assist to make it 6-0.
Hastings finished the game with 32 shots and 16 of them on goal as Whitehall had 10 shots with eight on frame and six goals.
Hastings is now 8-0 on the season and will be back in action Saturday Sept. 24 as Dordt comes to town with kick-off set for 7:30 p.m. at Lloyd Wilson Field.
