Men's Soccer Stomps Mount Marty

Yankton, S.D.- The No. 3 ranked Hastings College men's soccer team stays undefeated with a decisive 12-0 win over Mount Marty College in Yankton on Saturday evening.
The Broncos (15-0,7-0 GPAC) first struck in the 13th minute when Tor Trosten (FR/Tromso, Norway) found Marc Tautz (JR/Limburg, Germany) to put Hastings up 1-0. The Broncos would not let off the gas pedal, scoring seven more times in the first half. In the first half, Daniel Whitehall (SO/Warrington, England) tallied a hat trick with his NAIA-leading 22nd, 23rd, and 24th goals of the season in the 20th and twice in the 33rd minute, with assists from Brayant Toro (FR/Cali, Colombia) and Nick Hinds (JR/Lincoln, NE) in the second and third goal, respectively.
With an 8-0 lead going into the half, Dmytro Chepura (JR/Denver, CO) came in as the goalkeeper for the second half and tallied the first assist of the half after connecting with Miguel Mendoza (SR/Denver, CO) in the 53rd minute. Just 1:11 later, Eric Birighitti (FR/Perth, Australia) scored his first of two goals on the night, with the assistance Kristian Moore-Cowell (SO/Essex, England). Birighitti would tacked on his second goal in the 59th minute with help from Cesar Herrera (JR/Albert Lea, MN). Bruno Moreira (SO/Divinopolis, Brazil) scored the final goal of the night in the 76th minute to finish off the Broncos 12-0 win.
The Broncos play again Saturday night against the Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) Tigers at Lloyd Wilson Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
