Men's Soccer Breezes Past Morningside

Hastings- The No. 3 ranked Hastings College men's soccer team continued its tirade through regular season, this time with a commanding 4-1 win over Morningside (IA) College saturday night as part of Homecoming weekend at Lloyd Wilson Field.
In a game dominated by the Broncos (13-0, 5-0), who tallied 29 shots, 17 of those on goal, HC scored first with a 29th minute unassisted goal by Nick Hinds (JR/Lincoln, NE). In the 31st minute, Brayant Toro (FR/Cali, Colombia) followed suit with his own assisted goal to give the Broncos an early 2-0 lead over the Mustangs (8-3-1, 2-3).
The Broncos onslaught continued as Miguel Mendoza (SR/Denver, CO) scored an unassisted goal in the 33rd minute. The next players to get into the action were Brandon Hedgecock (SR/North Platte, NE) and Kristen Moore-Cowell both tallied an assist on a Thomas Guthrie (SR/Leavenworth, KS) goal in the 37th minute to give the Broncos their largest lead of the night.
Morningside struggled mightily as the Mustangs amassed only 5 shots and a shot on goal. The solo shot on goal by the Mustangs' Murat Turan connected with the back of the net in the 54th minute, making the score 4-1, where it would stand.
The Broncos play again Wednesday night versus the Doane University Tigers in Crete, NE. Kickoff time is set for 7:15 p.m.
