Women's Track and Field Brings Home Three Golds; Thomas Breaks Multiple Records
Seward, NE – The Hastings College women’s track and field team was in action on Friday afternoon taking part in the Concordia Indoor Invitational and here are the results.
Seward, NE – The Hastings College women's track and field team was in action on Friday afternoon taking part in the Concordia Indoor Invitational and here are the results.
Nisa Thomas brought home first place in the 60m hurdles in a record breaking time of 8.54. This sets the school record and also the meet record as her previous best was 8.58. Her time of 8.54 is also an "A" standard national qualifying time. Thomas would finish third in the 400m dash in a time of 59.93 while Myricle Moffett finished seventh in a time of 1:01. Moffett would finish fourth in the 60m dash in a time of 7.87.
Zailee Poulson finished first in the high jump with a leap of 1.60m.
Tristyn DiPentino brought home first place in the 3000m racewalk in a time of 17:37 while Baylee Evarts finished second in a time of 19:02 and Ava Brackhan finished third in a time of 19:26.
Veronica Pinkerton finished second in the mile run in a time of 5:22.
Asia Tyler went on to place third in the weight throw with a toss of 17.38m which in an "A" national standard. Tyler would also finish fourth in the shot put with a mark of 13.33m.
Danie Hoer placed fourth in the 3000m run in a time of 12:01.
Ikea Cuff went on to place eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.63m. Cuff would also finish eighth in the long jump with a mark of 5.10m.
The Broncos will be back in action Feb. 16-17 taking part in the GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships up in Yankton, SD.
