Volleyball Drops Two Matches Down at Ottawa
Ottawa, KS – The Hastings College volleyball team dropped two matches on Friday first losing 19-25, 17-25, 23-25 to No. 12 Bellevue before losing 18-25, 22-25, 24-26 to (RV) Oklahoma Wesleyan.

In game one it was the middle hitters doing the bulk of the work as Kaitlin Thiebauth led the way with 11 kills while hitting .273. Grace Branson added eight kills while hitting .353. Nicole Haywood added 7 kills.
Makenna Asher led the way with 28 assists to go along with 20 digs. Hastings hit .189 while the Bruins hit .275.
Being shorthanded again didn't help the Lady Broncos in either contest but Hastings did put up a fight in game one and also put up a fight against a powerful hitting Eagles squad.
This time it was Branson who led the way with 11 kills while hitting .231. Thiebauth finished with seven kills while hitting .154.
Asher again finished with a double-double with 23 assists and 16 digs. Hastings finished the match hitting .107 while OKWU hit .172.
Hastings is now 5-8 (0-4) on the year and will be back in action Saturday Sept. 20 as Doane comes to town with first serve set for 7:30 pm inside Lynn Farrell Arena.
