Softball Loses Two at No. 13 Midland
Fremont, NE – The Hastings College softball team dropped both its games to NAIA No. 13 Midland 7-1 and 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Fremont, NE – The Hastings College softball team dropped both its games to NAIA No. 13 Midland 7-1 and 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.
Game one the Lady Broncos were facing one of the best pitchers in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and came away with just four hits and one run in the 7-1 loss. That run came in the seventh on a Taylor Stuhr RBI single to left.
Macie Mays did go 2-for-3 in the game one loss.
Game two say Midland jump out to a 3-0 lead when HC got on the board in the fifth on a Lexie Mudloff single to make it a 3-1 ball game. The Warriors came back with a run of its own in the bottom half of the inning and led 4-1 heading into the seventh.
Isabel Tanabe led things off with a single to right. Then with two outs, Mudloff cracked a two run home run to left to make it 4-3. Lauren Schneider kept hopes alive with a single but Mays would strikeout to end the game as Midland picked up the sweep.
Tanabe, Mudloff and Schneider each had two hits while Mudloff recorded all three RBIs. Hastings did out hit Midland 8-to-7.
Hastings is now 12-14 (0-4) on the year and will be back in action Wednesday Apr. 3 as Concordia comes to town for a doubleheader with first pitch set for 4:00 pm out at the Smith Softball Complex in Hastings, NE.
