Softball Drops Double Dip to Friends
Wichita, KS – The Hastings College softball team was swept by Friends 13-8 and 11-2 on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Broncos got off to a crazy good start in game one plating seven runs before the Falcons even came to bat. Lauren Schneider picked up the first RBI on a fielder's choice. Katyn Kappler picked up a RBI single while Taylor Stuhr drew a walk that plated Schneider. Sam Skinner then picked up a RBI single followed by a 2 RBI single from Isabel Tanabe to make it 7-0.
The Lady Broncos carried an 8-2 lead into the fourth where Friends would plate 10 runs and eventually won game one 13-8.
Elana Gerhard was a perfect 3-for-3 in game one while Schneider and Tanabe led the way with two RBIs each.
Game two was all Friends as HC picked up two runs on just three hits. Nicole Halsey and Schneider each had a RBI in the loss.
Hastings is now 3-7 on the year and will be back in action Friday Mar. 1 taking part in the Friends University Invitational and will face Bethany at 3:30 pm at the Two Rivers Youth Complex and then will turn around and play MidAmerica Nazarene at 5:40 pm down in Wichita, KS.
