Wallman and Paxton Lead Broncos on All-Conference Team
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The 2014 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Football All-Conference Team has been selected after a vote of the league coaches on Sunday, November 16, at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa.
Brandon Wegher (RB) from Morningside has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Year, while Greg Hegstad (LB) from Northwestern was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year. Matt Franzen from Doane College was named the Hauff Mid-America/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year. Morningside and Northwestern were the regular season conference co-champions for 20143 (8-1). Both teams qualified for the NAIA Football Championship Series which opens on Saturday, November 22, with first round action. Morningside will host Ottawa, while Northwestern travels to Missouri Valley.
