Men's Basketball Falls To No. 19 Olivet Nazarene

The Broncos battled tough with the Tigers and had things tied at 22 following a layup from Reggie Thomas and a three from Myles Simon with 8:00 to go in the first half.
Then after Thomas picked up his second foul, he went to the bench and ONU would build a little bit of a lead as the Broncos trailed 36-31 at halftime.
Hastings and Thomas then came out on fire in the second half as Thomas buried a three to get to within four. After a bucket from the Tigers, Thomas drained another three. ONU ended up with another bucket but Thomas came right back with a three as HC now trailed 42-40.
Thomas picked up his fourth foul with 16:39 left in the second half but Hastings continued to fight. The Broncos did battle and tied the game twice. Following a free throw from ONU, Boudreau drained a jumper as Hastings tied things at 46 with 12:49 to go.
But as the game cleared 9:00 on the clock, ONU slowly started to pull away and built the lead to 10 before Thomas came back onto the floor. The lead grew to as many a 14 before the Tigers took the win by 10.
Thomas led the way for Hastings with a game high 22 points on 5-of-9 shooting, 3-for-6 from behind the arc and was 9-for-11 from the charity stripe. Tyrique McMurrin finished with 14 points as he was 6-for-11 from the floor and dished out a team high five assists. Boudreau had his best game as a Bronco scoring 12 points off the bench by going 5-for-8 from the floor.
Olivet finished the game shooting nearly 61 percent (28-for-46) from the floor while Hastings shot 45.6 percent (26-for-57). ONU shot 39 free throws and made 25 while Hastings was 16-for-26 from the line. The rebounding edge went to ONU at 33-to-26.
Hastings is now 10-3 (6-0) on the year and will be back in action Saturday Dec. 30 as Bethany comes to town with tipoff set for 3:00 pm inside Lynn Farrell Arena.
