Rowe Sets Personal Record in 400m Hurdles with A-Standard Race Win

In the 400m hurdles, junior Jaida Rowe claimed first place with an A-Standard and personal best time of 1:01.62. Rowe still holds the third best time in school history, just .08 second behind second place. Also placing in the event was freshman Lucy Carey who got second with 1:06.33 and freshman Ava Reese who got seventh place with 1:15.18.
In the 100m hurdles, Carey placed fourth with 15.55. Also placing in the event was Reese, who got 12th (17.56) and junior Kathryn Columbus, who got 13th (17.80). In the 100m, Reese got seventh with a time of 12.99.
Freshman Ellie Lloyd also placed third in the javelin throw (37.66m) and freshman Kamerin Turner got 18th (29.73m). In the discus, Lloyd got 20th with a throw of 34.51m. Turner also placed 10th in the long jump with a jump of 4.86m. Placing in the triple jump was junior Trinity Doublin, who got fifth with a 10.14m jump.
In the 800m, senior Cecilia Velarde got fourth place with 2:28.51. Sophomore Whitney Cure got tenth with 2:32.35, sophomore Grace Dow got 12th (2:34.90), sophomore Danielle Hoer claimed 16th (2:37.02), and senior Shania Santos took 22nd (2:40.24).
In the 1500m run, senior Cynthia Chaparro-Belloc got 11th place with a time of 5:14.53. In the high jump, junior Melissa Hines got 17th with a height of 1.43m.
The Broncos compete at the GPAC Championship on May 2nd in Hastings, NE at the Jack Osborne Track Complex at 12:00 pm
