Men's Wrestling Voted 5th in GPAC Preseason Poll
(Sioux City, IA) – The results are in from the Great Plains Athletic Conference with their Men’s Wrestling preseason poll, where Hastings College was voted to finish fifth.
(Sioux City, IA) – The results are in from the Great Plains Athletic Conference with their Men's Wrestling preseason poll, where Hastings College was voted to finish fifth.
Doane led the way with 211 points, while Morningside was second with 146 points. The Broncos, who had 84 points, were 20 points behind fourth place Northwestern.
In the preseason conference individual rankings, sophomore Koen Mattern, last years' GPAC champion, was first at 285, and junior Justin Rodriguez, last years' GPAC runner-up, was first at 133. Junior Creel Weber was fifth at 125, junior Nicholas Freeland was sixth at 157, senior Israel Manriquez was sixth at 165, and sophomore Esteban Sedano was sixth at 174.
Hastings will have their annual Crimson vs. Black event tomorrow night at 6:30pm at Lloyd Wilson Field. They will begin their season in Park City, KS on Saturday, Nov. 1 for the Falcon Invite.
