Hastings, NE – The Hastings College men's soccer team struggled in its 3-1 loss to Morningside on Saturday evening out on Lloyd Wilson Field.
The Mustangs built up a 3-0 lead as the Broncos were having a tough time getting shots on target.
Hastings finally broke through in the 79th minute on a penalty kick from Ruben Bande as his shot cleared the keeper into the top right corner to make it 3-1.
The Broncos picked up just two more shots as they fell 3-1.
Morningside out shot Hastings 15-to-11 and 5-to-4 in shots on goal.
The game did not have a lot of flow to it as there were 49 total fouls and eight yellow cards during the contest.
Hastings falls to 4-6-1 (3-2) on the year and will be back in action Wednesday Oct. 4 as Midland comes to town with kickoff set for 5:30 pm on Lloyd Wilson Field.
