Escalera Wins Third Straight; Men's Golf Finishes 4th
Sioux Center, IA – Gabriel Escalera has done it again this time by winning the Siouxland Invitational by three strokes as the Broncos went on to finish fourth overall. Hastings finished with a team score of 874 while Morningside won with a score of 852.
Sioux Center, IA – Gabriel Escalera has done it again this time by winning the Siouxland Invitational by three strokes as the Broncos went on to finish fourth overall. Hastings finished with a team score of 874 while Morningside won with a score of 852.
Escalera went out in the opening round where he was one over par (72) and then as the tournament moved on, he just got better with time. In round two he came back shooting a two under 69 and backed that up on day two in round three with a five under 66 which ties his school record low for a single round. He finished six under par which bettered the field by three strokes.
Ryan Burns finished tied for 11th with a three round total of 218 which put him five over par. His best round was round one where he was one over par with a 72.
Cullen Buscher was the third finisher for the Broncos as he carded a three round total of 221 which put him in a tie for 14th. His best round came in round two when he fired a two over 73.
Rob Noffsinger rounded out the scoring with a three round total of 230 which placed him in a tie for 20th. His best round was round one and two where he fired a 76.
Hastings will be back in action Oct. 18-19 taking part in the Crestview Fall Invite hosted by Friends University down in Wichita, KS.
