Men's Bowling Places 3rd at Jayhawk Challenge; Seeley and Engels Place 3rd and 4th
Topeka, KS – The Hastings College men’s and women’s bowling teams were in action this past weekend taking part in the Jayhawk Challenge as the men finished third in overall pin count and the women finished ninth. The men qualified for the bracket round where they were able to beat out Midland to finish third there as well.
Topeka, KS – The Hastings College men's and women's bowling teams were in action this past weekend taking part in the Jayhawk Challenge as the men finished third in overall pin count and the women finished ninth. The men qualified for the bracket round where they were able to beat out Midland to finish third there as well.
The Bronco men finished with a total pin count of 7769 while Wichita State won the overall with a pin count of 8653. The women finished with a total pin count of 6741 while Wichita State won with an overall pin count of 7509.
Tyler Seeley led on the men's side of things by finishing third with a total pin count of 1058 which averaged 211.6 per game. His best game was game one where he fired off a 252.
Brandon Engels was the top JV performer and he finished fourth overall with a total pin count of 1043 for an average of 208.6 per game. His best game was in game two where he finished with a 234. Engels play also helped lead the junior varsity to win the JV overall with a total pin count of 7380.
Tyler Call was the next top Bronco as he finished 18th with a total pin count of 969 which averaged out to 193.8. His best game was in game five where he finished with a 216.
Anthony Hernandez was right behind him in 19th with a total pin count of 968 which averages out to 193.6. His best game came in game one with a 215.
On the women's side of things, Amanda Peterson led the way by finishing 13th with a total pin count of 910.
Marissa Ruiz was next as she finished 30th with a total pin count of 866.
The women missed out on qualifying for the bracket round by a mere 31 pins.
The Broncos will now turn its attention to its home opener hosting the Bronco Open on Nov. 5-6 over at Pastime Lanes.
