Baseball Tabbed to Finish 9th in GPAC Preseason Poll
(Sioux City, Iowa) – Concordia University totaled 98 points and is the preseason coaches' selection to win the 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Baseball Championship. The Bulldogs garnered eight first place votes as the top selection in the league. Hastings came in ninth in the preseason poll with 23 points.

The Bulldogs garnered eight first place votes as the top selection in the league. Hastings came in ninth in the preseason poll with 23 points.
Morningside was tabbed to finish second with 87 votes and one first place tally, while Doane was picked third with 85 and the final first place vote. Briar Cliff and Mount Marty round out the top five with 75 and 60 votes each.
In 2025, Concordia was the regular season champion in the GPAC with a league mark of 25-3. Briar Cliff won the GPAC Tournament last spring.
The GPAC Postseason Tournament will feature two four-team tournaments (Seeds 1,4,5,8 and Seeds 2,3,6,7) (double elimination) on April 29 – May 1 at the sites of the top two seeds. Then the two tournament winners will play on Monday, May 4, in the GPAC Championship (one nine inning game) at the highest remaining seed.
Points were awarded on a 10-1 basis and coaches could not vote for their own team.
