Gerken Leads Way as Women's Cross Country Finishes 11th at Greeno/Dirksen
Lincoln, NE – The Hastings College women’s cross country team competed at the annual Greeno/Dirksen Invitational where the Broncos placed 11th out of 29 teams on Saturday morning.
Lincoln, NE – The Hastings College women's cross country team competed at the annual Greeno/Dirksen Invitational where the Broncos placed 11th out of 29 teams on Saturday morning.
This meet consisted of teams ranging from NCAA D1 all the way down to the JUCO level.
Madison Gerken led the way for the Lady Broncos finishing 16th in a time of 19:06. Veronica Pinkerton was just a few spots behind her placing 21st in a time of 19:22.
The third runner for Hastings was Shania Santos as she finished 50th in a time of 20:13 where Jilee Golus was the next finisher at 60th in a time of 20:27. Rounding out the scoring was Mikayla Seebohm as she finished 72nd in a time of 20:54.
Hastings finished ahead of NCAA D1 teams like Kansas City, Air Force, Univ. of Nebraska-Omaha and Creighton. The Lady Broncos were the No. 2 NAIA school finishing only behind Concordia.
Hastings will now turn its attention to the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic Saturday Oct. 1 out in Louisville, KY.
