Reagen Gallaway had to do it the hard way at 143 as she opened up her run against No. 5 Alexandra Lopez of Menlo as she moved to the consolation bracket with the 9-3 loss. She then had to battle Maria Slaughter of Missouri Valley and came away with the pin fall victory at the 1:10 mark.
Gallaway then picked up a 10-0 tech fall victory over Marissa Jimenez of Oklahoma City to keep her All-American hopes alive. Up next would-be No. 8 Micah Fisher of Cumberlands where she had not issues picking up the 13-2 tech fall victory. Gallaway would end up losing her next match moving her into the seventh-place match where she whipped Serenity De la Garza of Missouri Valley 12-1 to claim seventh place and her first All-American honor. This is just the second All-American honor in school history has Larissa Kaz picked up that same honor just last season.
At 123 Kaz just missed out on All-American honors as she was one bout short when she lost to No. 5 Anna Krejsa to bow out of the tournament. Kaz would go 3-2 at nationals.
Victoria Guinard would also come one bout short of All-American honors at 170 as she began her tournament with a nice win but would fall into the consolation bracket where Aalyah Villarreal would eliminate Guinard in the final consolation bracket as she finished the tournament 3-2.
Marissa Patterson would also finish one bout away from All-American honors as she would lost an absolute heartbreaker to Naomi Duenas 9-8 in the final match before All-American bouts as she finished the tournament 2-2.
