At 143 Reagen Gallaway had herself an interesting day as she opened the tournament against Grand View's Krista Warren and this may have been one of the most exciting matches of the year as these two went at it for the entire match with both scoring at will but neither able to stretch any kind of a lead until Warren edged Gallaway 20-19. Gallaway then began to mow her way through the consolation bracket picking up three straight pins followed by two tech falls, another pin and a tech fall before bowing out in sixth place. She led the tournament with the most points, most tech falls and the most pins in the least amount of time compared to any other wrestler at any weight class.
At 123 Larissa Kaz would end the day 3-2 picking up three straight pins to start her day by defeating Presley Anderson of Univ. of the Cumberlands, then she defeated Makaya Crisenbery of Tiffen and then defeated Kelsey Louen of Simon Fraser before bowing out of the tournament.
At 155 Lisa Hoeflich would end her day going 2-2 as she picked up a 12-0 tech fall victory over Elizabeth Hubbard of Missouri Valley and then defeated Nicole Lewis of Montreat by pinning her just :33 into the match before she would bow out of the tournament.
Hastings will now turn its attention to the Doane Open on Saturday Dec. 2 out in Crete, NE.
