Women's Wrestling Results from the Midland Warrior Open
Fremont, NE – The Hastings College women’s wrestling team was in action on Saturday taking part in the Midland Warrior Open and here are the results.

At 109 Bemnet Tesfa went on to finish second as she began her day by defeating Alyssa Petersen of Morningside via pin to move into the quarterfinals. There she pinned Paw Hobza of Sioux Falls to move into the title match where she would lose to Hailey Holland of Missouri Valley via tech fall.
At 116 Adacelli Salaiz-Noriega would go 2-2 on the day defeating Citori Bosserman of Northwest Kansas in an 11-0 tech fall victory and then pinned Taylor Weber of Doane before dropping her next two matches to end her day.
Kaydince Turner would end up finishing second at 136 as she began her day by defeating Yyvette Vargas of Southeast CC via a 10-0 tech fall. She then defeated Bridgett Sotomayor of Doane in a tight 4-3 match to move into the quarterfinals. There she took on Aramie Steele of Grsnd View where she easily defeated her 9-2 to advance to the semifinals. There she defeated Essence Charles of Iowa Western 6-4 to advance to the title match where she ended losing to Aniseta Acosta due to injury
Tabitha Wood would go 3-2 at 136 as she pinned Caxton Smyth who was wresting unattached and then defeated Andrea Yates of in Southeast CC via tech fall. She then pinned McKenna Hendrickson before losing to eventual champion Aniseta Acosta 14-7. She would end her day bowing out of the consolation semifinal due to injury.
Savannah Turner would finish fourth at 143 as she dropped her first match and then defeated Shelby Sherman of Northland CC via tech fall, then quickly pinned Olivia Cotton of Cornell and Cara Cheng of Missouri Baptist. In the consolation semifinal she defeated Nevaeh Leonard of Southeast CC by pinning her at the 4:39 mark to advance to the consolation final where she lost a tough 2-1 decision to Brinley Green of Sioux Falls
Lisa Hoeflich began her day with a loss but made a good run in the consolation bracket. She began the run by pinning Olivia Fausnaugh of Iowa Central. She then pinned Kalli Sutton of Doane at the 2:21 mark followed by a 5-0 decision Aspen Barber of Doane. She then pinned Lila Bloomer who was wrestling unattached before falling to Mahealani Ramirez of Grand View.
At 170 Victoria Guinard won her first match due to injury to Morgan Griffin of Iowa Lakes and then picked up a 12-2 tech fall over Hailey Romero of Doane before moving to the consolation bracket. There she picked up a 12-2 tech fall victory over Lamia Benn of Doane before taking fourth place.
Hastings will now turn its attention to the KCAC Tournament coming up Feb. 24 and will be hosted by Doane University out in Crete, NE.
