Anderson and Thomas Sweep Weekly GPAC Honors

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week
Field Events – Kiara Anderson, Hastings College
Kiara Anderson from Hastings College is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Anderson, a senior from Mesa, Arizona, won the women's weight throw Saturday at Doane's Ward Haylett Invite with an "A" standard throw of 16.95m (55' 7.5"). Anderson currently leads the NAIA in the weight. She also had a third-place finish in the women's shot put.
Track Events – Nisa Thomas, Hastings College
Nisa Thomas of Hastings College is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Thomas, a junior, from Elizabeth City, North Carolina, won both of her events Saturday at Doane's Ward Haylett Invite. She began by winning the 60m hurdles in an "A" standard automatic national qualifying time of 8.95 seconds. She went on to win the 200m dash in a time of 26.16 seconds. Nisa currently leads the GPAC in both events and ranks tenth in the NAIA in the 60m hurdles.
