(Hastings, NE) – Hastings College Athletic Director Chris Clements announced today that Wyatt Kile ('21) has been named as the head shotgun sports coach for the Hastings Broncos.
"We are very excited to welcome Wyatt back to Hastings College. The time that he spent here as a student athlete will be a valuable asset as he steps in to lead the program," Athletic Director Chris Clements said. "Our shotgun sports program has a history of success since the beginning of the program in 2013, and we are looking forward to continuing the success with Coach Kile."
A native of Cortland, NE, Kile came to Hastings College in the fall of 2016 and competed for three years, through the 2018-19 season. He then went to Creighton University, where he received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2023. Kile finished his undergraduate education from Hastings College in 2021, majoring in biochemistry.
"I am truly excited to see how this team grows and develops through the course of the fall and spring leading up to nationals in March. I am planning on focusing on the areas we can improve as a team in specific events and grow into an extremely competitive high overall team and bring back some hardware from nationals," Kile said.
As a student-athlete, Kile was NRA All American Honorable Mention as a sophomore, finishing 21st out of 468 participants, as the team took third in Division 3. In his junior season, he led the Broncos to finish second in trap by shooting a team-high 97, leading to a seventh overall finish in Division 3 final standings. Kile has also served as an assistant coach during parts of his post-college playing career at Hastings College.
"As a coach, I strive to prepare my student-athletes for success in the classroom first and on the range second. My goal is to develop well-rounded, responsible young adults who are ready to compete at a high level and thrive long after their college careers. Parents and fans can expect a program built on accountability, character, and excellence in every aspect of life," Kile added.
Prior to returning to be the head coach at Hastings College, he received his doctorate from Creighton, Kile has worked in Hastings and Grand Island in Pharmacy, working his way up from a Staff Pharmacist to a Manager in September 2025 at Super Saver in Grand Island.
