Shotgun Sports Finishes 5th at Warrior Invite
(Lincoln, NE) – The Hastings College Shotgun Sports team traveled this weekend to compete at the Warrior Invite, hosted by Midland. Hastings finished fifth out of 12 teams with 1359 targets.
(Lincoln, NE) – The Hastings College Shotgun Sports team traveled this weekend to compete at the Warrior Invite, hosted by Midland. Hastings finished fifth out of 12 teams with 1359 targets.
As a team, the Broncos were fifth in skeet, sixth in sporting clays, and eighth in trap.
In the Men's HOA Individual, senior Hunter Gilbertson finished tied for second among the competitors with 283 targets. He was third in skeet, hitting 99 targets. He was sixth in sporting with 87 targets and 30th in trap with 97 targets.
Senior Hayden Thomason was close behind at 14th overall with 279 targets. He hit all 100 targets in skeet to place first, then he hit 98 targets in trap to take 19th. Junior Chase Wieczorek tied for 51st with 268 targets and senior Austin Hofts was 55th with 267 targets.
In the Women's HOA Individual, junior Katrice Lyons was 19th with 256 targets, being ninth in skeet and 13th in trap. Freshman Abbie Blackwell was tied for 23rd with 250 targets, finishing 13th in trap. Junior Hannah Sears, was 35th with 240 targets.
Other Bronco participants in the Men's HOA Individual included sophomore Jace Bax, who was 109th with 247 targets, freshman Davis Davenport was 114th with 245 targets, and junior Jake Royal finished 131st with 238 targets.
Up next, Hastings will compete at the Prairie Valley Circuit Conference Championship on Sept. 26-28 in Grand Island, NE.
