Schulz to Become Strength and Conditioning Coach
Effective June 03, 2013, Steve Schulz will join the Hastings College Athletic Department as Strength and Conditioning Coach. Since 2010, Steve has served as Associate Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Boise (Idaho) State University – another home of the Broncos. His duties there have included directing Olympic sports training and leading the strength and conditioning programs for men's basketball, women's soccer and women's volleyball. He previously held coaching positions at Santa Clara University in California, Stanford University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Additionally, he owned and operated a sports training and consulting company in Mountain View, Calif., for several years.
Among the credentials Steve maintains is a United States Weightlifting Federation certification as a Level I Weightlifting Coach and membership with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In 2005, Steve won a gold medal at the World Weightlifting Championships World Games, and he continues to compete in the United States Weightlifting Federation's Masters Weightlifting events.
A York, Neb., native, he earned his BA in physical education from Doane College and his M.Ed. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
