Women's Cross Country Wins Chile Pepper Festival
Fayetteville, AR - The Hastings College women's cross country team made some noise on Friday by winning the Chile Pepper Festival with a team score of 90 points. Oklahoma Christian finished right behind Hastings with a score of 91 points.
Shania Santos (FR/Marana, AZ) led HC by finishing sixth in a time of 18:54 while Jilee Golus (FR/Bismark, ND) wasn't too far behind her finishing ninth in a time of 19:08.
Veronica Pinkerton (SO/Beatrice, NE) placed 12th in a time of 19:15 while Madison Gerken (SO/McCool Junction, NE) finished 16th in a time of 19:22.
Landry Hinkson (SO/Cottonwood Falls, KS) came in 47th in a time of 20:25.
This is the first team win for the Lady Harrier's since winning the Bronco Stampede back in Sept. of 2018 and the first road win since Aug. of 2018.
Hastings will take the next two weeks off and will focus on the Mid State Classic hosted by Southwestern on Oct. 23 down in Winfield, KS.
