Women's Cross Country Wins Bronco Stampede
Hastings, NE - The Hastings College women's cross country team took the team title at the Bronco Stampede hosted by the Broncos at Hastings Lake. HC's top five runners finished with a total of 22 points.
Leading the way for Hastings was Shania Santos (FR/Marana, AZ) as she broke the 19 minute barrier with a time of 18:49 as she finished in second place. Jilee Golus (FR/Bismark, ND) finished in third place in a time of 19:39 while Veronica Pinkerton (SO/Beatrice, NE) finished fourth in a time of 20:08. Madison Gerken (SO/McCool Junction, NE) finished fifth in a time of 20:28 and rounding out the scoring for Hastings woul be Liz Baade finishing seventh in a time of 20:45.
Landry Hinkson (SO/Cottonwood Falls, KS) finished 10th in a time of 20:49 and Savannah Congrove (SR/Noblesville, IN) finished 19th in a time of 22:05.
Hastings will now turn its attention to the Greeno/Dirkson meet held on Saturday Sept. 18 which is hosted by Doane University in Lincoln, NE.
