Loseke Finishes 10th at GPAC; Women's Golf Places 8th
Spencer, IA – The Hastings College women’s golf team got off to a great start at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championship Meet but ended up finishing eighth after the two day event in very windy conditions at the Spencer Golf and Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Spencer, IA – The Hastings College women's golf team got off to a great start at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championship Meet but ended up finishing eighth after the two day event in very windy conditions at the Spencer Golf and Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
The Lady Broncos flirted with first and second throughout the first round with Anna Cafferty leading the way with an 84. Mackenzie Loseke and Shelby Schroeder finished the first round with a 90 with Riley Lanning rounding out the scoring at a 98. Hastings was in fourth after round one with a team total of 362.
Then the wind which was blowing at a steady 32 mph began to create problems for Hastings at the end of round one and through rounds two and three as HC would eventually finish in eighth with a team score of 1094. Briar Cliff won the event with a team score of 1042.
Loseke led the way with a three round total of 264 with her best round coming in round three with an 86. She went on to finish 10th which will earn her All-Conference honors for the second year in a row.
Schroeder finished tied for 20th with a three round total of 270. Her best round came in round two with an 89. Cafferty finished 37th with a three round total of 280 while Lanning finished 42nd with a three round total of 291.
