Ruiz Leads Women's Bowling at NAIA Tournaments
Lawrence, KS – The Hastings College women’s bowling team was in action this past weekend finishing eighth in NAIA Tournament No. 1 and then finished 13th in NAIA Tournament No. 2.
Lawrence, KS – The Hastings College women's bowling team was in action this past weekend finishing eighth in NAIA Tournament No. 1 and then finished 13th in NAIA Tournament No. 2.
The Lady Broncos finished tournament one with a total pin count of 6551 while Ottawa won with a total of 7208.
Marissa Ruiz led the way on day one with a total pin count of 1025 for an average of 205 which was good enough for a fifth place finish that earned her All-Tournament team honors. Her best game was in game two with a 233. The next top finisher was KInzi Temple as she finished 28th with a total pin count of 911 for an average of 182.2. Her best game was in game three with a 192.
On day two the Lady Broncos finished with a total pin count of 5464 while Ottawa won with a total pin count of 6429.
Leading the way on day two was Ruiz as she finished 28th with a total pin count of 1176 for an average of 168. Her best game was in game five with a 193.
Hastings will be back in action Saturday Feb. 24 taking part in the NAIA Regional Conference Tournament down in Overland Park, KS at the Bowlero Overlan Park.
