Beeson Leads Broncos Down at Falcon Invite
Park City, KS – The Hastings College men’s wrestling team competed down at the Falcon Invite this past Saturday under new head coach Trey Heckadon.
Park City, KS – The Hastings College men's wrestling team competed down at the Falcon Invite this past Saturday under new head coach Trey Heckadon.
The Bronco grapplers had three wrestlers at 141 as Kavika Aholeiei won his first match over Steven Fowlers of Wayland Baptist via a pin fall at the 5:00 mark but would fall in his next two matches finishing the day 1-2. Jack Morton would also win his first match of the day by defeating Brise Bennett of William Penn by a 5-3 decision before dropping his next two matches to also finish 1-2. The story at 141 was Landon Beeson as he would begin his day with a loss to Carson Coy of Embry-Riddle by a 10-3 decision. In the consolation bracket he made a very impressive run by first beating Stevie Duran by a 12-2 major decision. He moved to the next round due to a medical forfeit and then defeated Jonny Burnette of Northwestern by a 3-1 decision. In the next round he faced Kolton Field of Pratt CC where he picked up an 11-2 major decision as he moved to the consolation quarterfinal where he had to face Coy again but that is where his day would end with a tech fall loss. He finished the day 4-2.
Jake Patterson wrestled at 157 for the Broncos where he would go 1-2 on the day.
Matheson Rodriguez would also be in action at 285 where he would go 1-2.
The Broncos will be back in action Thursday Nov. 10 as Concordia comes to town for the first Great Plains Athletic Conference dual set to begin at 7:00 pm inside Kiewit Gymnasium.
