Men's Tennis Begins GPAC Season with Loss to Doane

Doane captured the doubles point by winning 6-0 at #1 doubles and 6-2 at #3 doubles. Sophomores Ben Hafer and Alex Hafer gave Hastings some momentum by winning 6-4 at #2 doubles, despite the Tigers carrying the 1-0 lead.
The Tigers won at #2 and #3 singles by dropping two combined games to go up 3-0 in the match. At #1 singles, sophomore Joel Carter lost the first set 6-2, then took a 4-3 lead in the second set, before falling 6-4.
At #4 singles, Doane pulled out a 6-2, 6-3 win. Freshman Aden Ingwerson lost his first set, 6-2, at #5 singles, but put up a strong fight in the second set and tied up the set at five, ultimately coming up short, 7-5. The Tigers also won at #6 singles, 6-2, 6-1, to complete the 7-0 shutout.
Up next, Hastings will play at Concordia on Wednesday, Mar. 25 at 6pm.
