Men's Soccer Scores Early, But Falls to Concordia

(Hastings, NE) – The men's soccer team played Concordia on Wednesday at Lloyd Wilson Field. The final score was 3-1, resulting in a Bronco loss.
In the eighth minute of the first half, sophomore Juan Rubio scored the first goal of the game with the assist of David Maqueda. Hastings took seven shots in the first half compared to Concordia's town. In the 32nd minute Concordia scored the second goal, the first for the team.
The Broncos took four shots in the second half while Concordia took six. In the 64th minute of the game Concordia scored again followed by another goal in the 72nd minute.
Hastings had three shots on goal throughout the game compared to six for the Bulldogs. Sophomore Tim Berger led the team with five shot attempts, including two on goal. Junior Ethan Watkins recorded a total of six saves compared to Concordia's two.
The men's soccer team plays another home game against Dordt on Saturday, October 11 at 5:30pm. They will honor the seniors at Lloyd Wilson Field at 4:15pm before the game.
