Broncos Drop Warriors 26-21 in Season Opening Dual

Midland took the first two matches at 103 and 110 via forfeit and tech fall.
Freshman Ruby Guerrero got Hastings on the board with a pin at 117 over Destiny Castillo, then Hastings freshman Isabella Keesee won at 124 via forfeit.
Junior Larissa Kaz made quick work of Taylor Hood at 131, getting a pin 35 seconds into the match. Sophomore Reagen Gallaway lost a 4-2 decision in a very competitive match at 138 to Emily Paulino.
Midland tied the overall match score up at 16 on a tech fall at 145 with three matches to go. Freshman Brooke Schilke trailed 2-1 after four minutes at 160, but she responded by pinning Ja'Nya Banks at the 4:19 mark.
The Warriors were able to win by fall at 180, but Hastings concluded with junior Taylor Rickley winning at 207 by forfeit to seal the 26-21 win.
Up next, the Broncos will compete at Life Duals in Marietta, GA on Friday, Nov. 8 at 12pm central standard time.
