Women's Tennis Comes Back to Defeat Mount Marty
Yankton, SD – The Hastings College women’s tennis team picked up win No. 2 by defeating Mount Marty 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.
Yankton, SD – The Hastings College women's tennis team picked up win No. 2 by defeating Mount Marty 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Broncos would get off to a rough start falling behind 3-1 to start the day and would need a comeback effort to keep its post season hopes alive.
Victoria Harris, Paige Willcoxon and Abby Haverson each dominated their mathes at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles to get HC back in the match.
It all came down to No. 1 singles with Josline Carter as she won set one 7-6 only to drop set two 6-1 to set up a winner take on set three.
Set three was all Carter winning 6-2 to give Hastings the much needed 4-3 victory over the Lancers.
Hastings is now 9-11 (2-3) on the year and will be back in action Thursday Apr. 18 as Doane comes to town with first serve set for 4:00 pm in Hastings, NE.
