Women's Tennis Keeps Post Season Hopes Alive With 4-3 Win Over CSM
Hastings, NE – The Hastings College women’s tennis team had its hands full against College of Saint Mary on Sunday afternoon but came away with the hard fought 4-3 victory over the Flames inside the Physical Fitness Facility.

After dropping the No. 1 doubles match, No. 2 doubles of Paige Wilcoxon and Sasha Richards fell behind 3-0 before fighting all the way back to defeat Carolyna Truong and Miranda Swanson 6-4.
At No. 3 doubles were Aby Harveson and Amanda Skinner were down 5-4 and fending off match point and then came back to win the match 7-5 to give the Lady Broncos the much needed doubles point heading into the singles match.
Josiline Carter played in one of the longest matches of her career at No. 2 singles as the match lasted well over two hours. After dropping the first set 7-6, Carter dominated the final two sets 6-1 and 6-3 to pick up the victory.
At No. 3 singles, Victoria Harris dropped set one 6-1 but found her swing in sets two and three to come away with the victory 1-6, 6-2, 6-1. That gave Hastings its third point and needed just one more win to secure the victory but it wouldn't come easily.
Wilcoxon won set one 6-3 but fell behind early in set two only to battle back to force a tiebreaker that she would win 7-4 and take the victory 6-3, 7-6 as HC came away victorious over the Flames.
Hastings will be back in action Friday Apr. 12 hitting the road to take on Northwestern with first serve set for noon out in Orange City, IA.
