Four Broncos Win Races at Ward Haylett Invite

In the 800m, sophomore Evan Struss won the event with a winning time of 1:56.34. Freshman Thomas Thomas was second in the event at 2:07.90, followed by freshman Corey Fields in third (2:08.89). Freshman Jordael Hernandez placed fourth in the race (2:10.41) and freshman Xavier Roderiques was fifth (2:14.67).
Senior Tyler Salter won the 1000m event, finishing at 2:31.25. Senior Deshawn Burks was right behind in second at 2:32.64 and sophomore Parker Graves was fourth at 2:35.58. Freshman Ben Mages was fourth in the 600m at 1:28.71 and freshman Henry Yazzie placed ninth at 1:34.43.
Junior Kaiden Merryman won the 60m prelims with a time of 6.95 and improved upon that in the finals with a time of 6.87, winning in the final as well. Also in the 60m, senior Tanner-James Friend was fifth (7.29), sophomore Rayne Chavez-Major was sixth (7.29) and junior Noah Hudnall was seventh (7.30).
Freshman Gareth Szabo collected first place in the 3000m, finishing with a time of 9:45.69. In the 200m, junior Zane Eggleston raced to a second-place finish at 23.86, while Hudnall was third at 23.95 and freshman August Phye was fourth at 24.26.
In the weight throw, senior David Beadle took third place with a top throw of 56'02.50". Also in the weight throw, senior Edward Holly was 16th (40'03.25"), junior Titus Glanz was 18th (38'04.25"), freshman Oliver Janik was 19th (37'02.50), and freshman Ryan Oberg was 20th (36'07.50"). Holly placed 13th in the shot put (41'03.00"), Oberg was 14th (40'04.75"), and Janik was 18th (38'01.50").
Sophomore Cody Defeo finished in fourth place in the triple jump with a top jump of 41'05.75" In the long jump, sophomore Jack Scrivner placed sixth (21'04.00"), Defeo took seventh (20'08.00"), Chavez-Major was ninth (20'01.75"), and senior Chance Elwood placed 13th (19'06.00").
