Men's Tennis Drops Match at Doane

(Crete, NE) – On a cold and windy day in Crete, the Doane Tigers took down the Broncos 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers got off to a fast start by getting the doubles point, winning all but three points in the three matches combined to go up 1-0 heading into singles.
Freshman Joel Carter at #1 singles and junior Ethan Mins at #5 singles each had sets where they won four games, but that would be the closest that any Bronco would get to winning a set. Senior Nick Smeltzer battled to get five games in his two sets at #2 singles in his 6-3, 6-2 loss.
Playing #3 singles, freshman Alex Hafer had the longest match of the six despite losing 6-0, 6-2, with many long points and competitive games. Doane lost just one game combined between #4 and #6 singles to win the match, 7-0.
Up next, Hastings will travel to Fremont, NE on Sunday, April 6 to take on the Midland Warriors at 12pm.
